I'm Tony from Hertfordshire in the UK.
I've just ordered my first 10mm figures from Pendraken and can't wait to start sorting through them and getting some paint on them.
I've gone for the two Peninsula army packs for the British and French. I aim to play Black Powder or maybe even Sharp Practice with them. I own SP already and should have the 3 Black Powder books in the post this week.
I was thinking about what range to plunge into as I am mostly a collector or 28mm plastic. Doing Napoleonics with limited space meant I just had to scale down in size but I didn't want to scale down in quality as I enjoy the painting side of the hobby. I looked at a lot of 15mm and even some 6mm products but always went back to the 10mm Pendraken ranges. I think they are an awesome range and look forward to collecting and painting them up.

I love wargaming and history, although I find I enjoy memoirs and accounts more than a historians take on things. I'm currently reading a lot of Napoleonic accounts from Archive.org in preparation and Recollections of Rifleman Harris is nearing an end on my Kindle. I don't get to play many wargames however so usually wind up building two forces and then moving on. I really would like to get some games in around the local area if anyone reading knows of a club or two? Free time during the week is the other barrier but weekends are generally my own. Fingers crossed I can get some games in now as space isn't so much of an issue to get a decently large and stunning looking game going on a smaller table. I think a decorators table would do just fine in a lot of cases at 10mm. I'll have to get some scenery over time too but I really think the move to 10mm is a good one for my gaming and Pendraken seem to have a wide enough range that I might get a company or two for WWII with I Ain't Been Shot Mum or even some ancients.

Anyway, that's enough drivvle from me, I'll be visiting the site now and then and trying to keep abreast of what Pendraken are releasing!

Hello Mr Spy.

Welcome to the forum. If you have a poke around, you'll find that Pendraken are promising some more British Napoleonics in the early part of 2014. I'm keeping my powder dry till then. meanwhile, have a look at what some of the clever beggars round here do and you'll see how good Pendraken can look.

One thing I've found about scenery: in 10mm it just looks bigger. I have some fir trees that I used in 20mm, and they look proper grand in 10mm.

Well they are  being really crap in the SPL at the minute so they might as well paint instead
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Depends where abouts in Herts you are. In the west there is our club at Tring, in the centre there's one at St Albans and in the east there is a new one in Bishops Stortford but they only meet once a month. There are more.
I use two decorators pasting tables linked together with a separate board giving a fairly large table size of 2m x 1.4m which can be dismantled. It's a tad taller than a normal table but it works well for me because I usually play standing up to move around the table (at home anyway)

Since when has Leighton Buzzard been in Hertfordshire? It was in Bedfordshire last time I looked.

But Lemmey's right, there are a lot of us in Herts. A warm welcome to forum.  :)
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
