From the Helion web site it looks like it will be hardback only for now and limited to a print run of 500 (with author signature!).   I hope they eventually publish it in digital.

I have pre-ordered this and publication has now been put back to Feb/March. The campaign on the Somme is fascinating in that it was led by one of France's most able generals with one of the weakest armies of the Republic containing a substantial number of third line troops (but also some very good marine infantry).

Do we have a price for this volume?

Not a fortune, then. I was expecting something outrageous for a limited publication.

Greetings

I bought myself the second volume of the German General Staff history of the Franco-German War the other day (I've had volume 1 for a while).  One day I might get as far as the Republic phase of the war but there's still so much in the period of the war against the Empire - lots of clashes and detail (mainly of course from the German side) that don't make it into higher level accounts.

I have had a copy of Cassels' History of the Franco-German
war for sometime. Some excellent maps. Well
worth buying if you have the chance

Me too but I was disappointed at the poor coverage of the 'Imperial' phase in contrast with the 'Republican' phase and in particular the siege of Paris. We sometimes forget what a huge thing this was for the Victorians.
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Chad, what are you playing these days?
