Saw it in 3D at the local Cineworld and absolutely loved it - just what I wanted from the 50th Anniversary episode.

Hats off to the Whovians who'd made the effort and turned up in costume.

Roll on the Xmas special.

What ever they do...

:D

I thought it was excellent.

Lets hope the next series doesn't fall back into the tedious 'monster of the week' format.

Liked it, but left a little flat after the hype

Not sure about the revision of 'history' to redeem the Doctor ....  :-\

It wasn't what I was expecting - it was more like an ordinary episode that suddenly discovered it was about the Time Wars. I'd expected... well, more Doctors taking part. Some extra Companions. A more... special special...

However, it was as well made as ever, and a good story.

Also enjoyed the Three(ish) Doctors, and even the after-show party on BBC 3 - although the presenters were cringeworthy, the familiar faces were very welcome. There was a Pointless special with old cast members during the week too - including Sylvester McCoy & Sophie Aldred, who was looking well!

I've complained for some time (and at some length!) about the unlikeliness of the masters of time and space being unable to find a time/ universe to hide in and save themselves. I am glad that at least one script writer clearly felt the same! The mechanism for saving it - hmmm ... it'll do :)

Went to the flicks on Saturday night and found a queue stretching out the door to see the Dr Who thing. Went and saw Gravity instead. Brilliant - but don't watch it if you're prone to motion sickness.  :-& :-& :-&

Yeah, I found it not as good as i thought it was going to be, although it got better in the latter half.

I just think the writing lately is not up to scratch, I've not been into the Matt Smith doctor, its had a few good episodes, but they've been generally poor in my opinion.

however, the plot did set up the series for Peter Capaldi as the doctor who will rediscover Gallifrey (probably!)

Agree totally:  Matt Smith is to David Tennant   as Sylvester McCoy was to Tom Baker (I do realise they were some time apart but you get the point).

Matt Smith tried too hard and had a very tough act to follow :-\
