Famous last words ;D

We got to the venue, a local school hall, just after the main organiser had unlocked the hall. Set up went well and we diced to see who would command which side; Pierre the Shy (Peter) got to be Cornwallis

As he started setting up the British I realised I had forgotten the smoke markers we use to show units firing ~X(

As I quickly nipped home Peter kindly set up the Americans for me so very little time was lost :)

The game played really well and was more balanced than Peter thought as he looked at the three lines of massed Americans, I'll leave the result for the battle report ;)

I was expecting to play the battle twice over the three days but we came to a conclusion by mid afternoon :o It will be interesting to see how it plays today with me as Cornwallis and Peter and Roy taking the Americans

Lots of positive comments about the terrain and figures :-[ :)

One guy who is visiting from Auckland is now muttering about us under his breath, seeing the figures has convinced him to take the plunge and buy some Pendraken Napoleonic armies ;D

Another interesting game with things playing out quite differently, we again finished by mid-afternoon, the result will have to wait for the battle report :)

More positive comments about the terrain and troops including from some of the guys who had arrived for the 25mm DBMM competition :)

Probably the best quote was
QuoteI had thought of 10mm as a compromise scale but they have the detail of 15mm and the mass effect of 6mm

Having played the refight twice and with both my opponents low on Brownie points we will not be playing again tomorrow

I always enjoy seeing a game table with little extra bits like this.   :-bd

paulr

Detailing finished on the houses :)

Bases for the buildings cut out, hedge and building placement sorted :)

Cows and poultry dry brushed, detailed and washed :)

Animal bases painted and magnetic vinyl glued on :)
First time I've used Minibit bases and I must admit it is nice not having to cut them out and sand them :) #:-S
