Horses finished :)

Base coated green jackets and red coats :) :)

After a year :o :o painting various browns, with only a brigade of NC Militia to add variety, it is invigorating to be painting bold colours again  ;) :) :D

I'm also looking forward to all the detail on these uniforms, much more interesting than the more functional uniforms of 1914-18

One of the books I got is about the Battle of Halen.... the German 4th Cavalry Division's first action (prior to Nery) which was mainly against the Belgian Cavalry Division.

Looks like Belgian uniforms aren't too drab in 1914...and  lots of stuff available in 10mm.....hmmm  :-\

Continued work on Wavre AAR, for some reason this ones not flowing :( I better hurry up as we are refighting it again tonight :!!

Did the hair on the current batch and the brass on the 17th Light Dragoons helmets :)
Cut and preped the bases for this batch and got the first side painted this morning :)

Black Grey hats, boots, cartridge cases and scabards next, for some reason this always seems to be a big hurdle for me :-\

That's the stage I always look forwards to, in my mind it means they are nearly done!
It's also often when the figure goes from horrible to nicely starting to take shape

I agree about the impact on the figure and the 'nearly done', still for some reason it is a bit of a 'hump' for me :-\

Black Grey done on 4 out of 6 painting rods, helped by doing two different reds on the 17th Light Dragoons helmets
Will do the last 2 rods after lunch

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

At gate at HK airport waiting for Air NZ flight home to Auckland....got a new carry on bag to hold the goodies we have acquired while away.
They should keep me happy for a while. Think Mrs Shy is glad to be heading home too.....we're more than ready to get home and see the kids  :)

Be interesting to see what Paul comes up with for this game, his AWI games are always good whichever side one plays  8)
