Hi!

As my Gondor army (see here) is almost finished I think it´s time to start with the evil forces. I´ll use Copplestone orcs & trolls, but I´ll commence with some Haradrim units.

The obvious references for infantry are AB2 & AB3, and also AB7 for horse archers. However, I´m not sure about what reference to use for heavy cavalry. I only need one unit (6 figures), and my options are:

1.- SC19
2.- A mix of AB8 & AB9

I think sudan cavalry (SC19) is better sculpted and more detailed. However, AB references give me a bit variety in the unit. So... what do you think?

Cheers!

In terms of sculpt I'd go with SC19 every time.

In terms of how I imagined them when reading the book I'd go with OT4 Sipahis cavalry lance from the Ottoman Turk range in the Renaissance section, but maybe that's just me.

Of course, if they weren't rarer than hen's teeth and more expensive than your average gas bill I'd say go for the Warmaster Araby army heavy cavalry.

I always imagined them more Islamic looking in their dress  ie El Cid period

Leon...Can we have some...El Cid stuff please
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Mmm... nice reference. I´ll probably use this for characters. Any chance to see some painted photos?

Thanks Ithoriel!

This is the OT4 code, I'm not sure if we've got any painted though:

Not Pendraken miniatures (look away now Leon :)  ) but the infantry and cavalry are what I imagined the Haradrim looking like.

Whenever possible, I try to avoid having to sell my organs on the black market in order to pay me the miniatures... ;D

Too little armour...

I think I´ll go with SC19 for heavy cavalry and OT4 for characters. Ah, an also AB6 for Serpent Guard!

Leon, stay tunned for my order! There is only 4 months left for next year´s painting competition...  :D
