People keep mentioning these rules, any thoughts?

I had some spare milliputt so based up and painted a few of my old WWII ship, now itching to play again...

I've got a copy of Naval Thunder: Clash of Dreadnoughts - the WWI set. I haven't had a chance to play them, and don't know when I will, but from a read-through they look like a good set. The basic rules look reasonably simple, but also like they should give some feel for the period. There are plenty of optional rules that can be ignored or included to taste.

I had two pints of Naval Thunder in 1976, never been the same since.

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!
