Good work.

Are your points for WMA or WM Fantasy? If for fantasy they seem a bit high for the heavy cavalry?

Fantasy.  But the points take into account the bow fire which, for essentially 3/3/4 cavalry, the bowfire makes a massive difference.  Can't charge em, don't want to be charged by em.  The perfect unit...MONGOLS  :D

Cheers for the feedback  :-bd

Anyone else agree / disagree?

Also, I have play-tested this one to death with Samurai: created my own list for that too (you cannot underestimate the power of defensive bow-fire for troops of this quality).

Anyone want a copy?

fred.

Indeed the Araby camels at 3/3/5 with shooting are very good.

I feel that heavy cavalry are far too cheap in WM fantasy anyway. But if you take the 110 pt knight as the standard, then probably 130 is enough for a shooty version

I like your light cavalry take. Do they have 30cm shooting range?

Yeah, I thought 130 was enough until I play-tested it; a chaos knight is 4/4/4.  On a charge, shooty heavies are 4/3/4 and, although they are only 3/3/4 offensively, the shooting MASSIVELY compensates for cavalry's only potential weakness: being charged.

Glad you liked the light cavalry: seems to fill the infantry void (needed in WM) without making them too effective.  YES, they do shoot at 30cm to represent the Mongols' tactics and, at 75, they may be a little cheap but I think (as Priestly himself says) you should look at the army balance as a whole.

Keep the comments coming guys  :D

Are you going to post them up on the Ricks Warmaster site?

On there now Fenton: under Updates / Variants etc.

Thanks for the suggestion  ;)

Hi get2grips,

my comment in this list, again only suggestions and trying to be contructive:

1) Like the mood and the originality.

2) Peasants maybe not an important arm in the mongol life. I would drop the entry. If you feel this type of troop is needed, I would change the name to camp followers or anyting like this because peasants reminds me agriculture style of life instead nomadic style of like.

3) Light cavalry based in long edge in WM fantasy could be ok if it is an special of only mongol list. But I would not let them to enter in difficult terrain... at last this is a horse style list and they have gollems to assault difficult terrains and archers to force enemy out of the difficult terrain.

4) Special 2 still Gollums instead gollems ;)

I think the list is great!!

Did you playtested it?

Do you want to publish it in WM & 10mm digest nº3 ?

Thanks Chaos  :)

Not playtested yet as I am waiting for Techno to get a move on (you know I'm kidding right Phil  ;))

As for peasants, yeah, I prefer the camp followers name.  Historically they would.t have fought but have you seen the greens???  Couldn't leave em out.

As for the light cavalry I think they need replacement, cheap(ish) foot slooggers.

If you want them in the digest...do it  :)  I'm not prissy  ;)

Thanks Chaos  :-bd

Yep...pretty much sums it up for me  :D

We are editing n2 to be released in mid/late october.

nº3 will be released (if nothing wrong happens) to february. I think this list has potential, and you are the author so I will publish what you give to me. There is time to prepare a little text and illustrations, if you want to, and make a playtest if you want to also. If you feel improvement or changes needed during the playtest do them.

If you prefere to wait until the miniatures are out and prepare pics of the figures will be ok by me. It could go for digest nº4 or whatever.

Also this type of article could attract buyers of pendraken figures and one of the goals of the digest is promoting warmaster but also 10mm figures and rulesets based in 10mm figures.

you could pm to jchaos79@yahoo.es

cheers

First batch of the cavalry will be in the post to Leon either today or tomorrow. Just got to take some pics and make notes/measurements to help me keep them as consistent
as possible. :)
Cheers - Phil.
