So i am a Game of Thrones obsesive!
So after much playing of the card game and the board game, and writing and runing a live action adaptaion of the role playing game, i've turned my hand to wargaming.
I first started writing a full set of rules, but then dug out my old chipco set, fantasy rules.
I'll go back to my set of rules eventually, but decided to spend some time playing around with army lists for chipco. 10mm models on these beses look kind of cool. I am able to play around with the free form army lists to hone armies with enough variation.

So i've ordered my first wave of models, hopefully arrive sooooon.....

But in the mean time i would like your thoughts on what could represent what?

Fenton

I think you need to go straight to the Medieval section for all the armies ..maybe the beggars in the fantasy section for the free folk

What are the Chipco rules like?
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Uncle_Cthulu

I have raided a whole load of medieval stuff to start sorting through different factions.
Was wondering though i tend to remember the fantasy range beign a bit more chunky than the regular range, is that still the case or has the years played with my perceptions?
Was thinking about the elves for some rangery types and the beggars for wildlings.
The Chipco rules are relativly simple and is based on individual bases that can be brigaded together.
It focuses alot on morale, and sees two battleine clashes.
It was 1998 i think when i last played, though i do tend to tinker with rules and army lists as a guide to collecting but play very little.

This one has come up before, and the general consensus was a random assortment of the Norman, Anglo Saxon, Arab, Medieval and Late Roman ranges for the majority of it, apart from the Dothraki.  The only thing I could think of for them would be the Barbarians, which wouldn't be perfect.

I think there's a Byzantine element as well.

Pendraken don't do Byzantines? Well, there's a gap that should be speedily rectified.  O:-)

Didn't think the Byzantines used tanks.
:d

To be serious the Late Roman and early Byzantine figures are almost interchangeable.

Some cool ideas i hadn't thought of there,
I did hunt through the forums for ideas, and didn't see any, other than a dungeon bash thread.
Late romans and byzantium thats a thought as well.

I can do more than tanks! My problem is that my painting technique is good enough for modern stuff at the moment. Just 'cos the hand and eye have gone, doesn't mean to say the brain has.

Though to be fair, that's probably on the way out too.
