Listen to Nosher FSN !!

You need to check for any underlying cause(s)......I'd be down to the GP 'toot sweet' if I did something similar.
Again...Hope you feel better soon.

Cheers - Phil.

First I would like to say that Noshers contribution is both knowledgeable and useful, comming from a health proffessional,  and I can only strongly suggest you follow his good advice.  :-bd

However , there are certain standards we have to ensure are maintained on this Forum.

caused by a temporrary reduction of blood flow to the brain.

As I have regularly stated to my two eldest daughters - "Men have a brain and a penis but they only have enough blood  for one of them to function at a time"   :D

So FSN, If your brian did not have enough blood flow - What were you thinking /doing  :-\

As a dad to three girls I bet they appreciated that... :-&

Any mention of parents being involved in any kind of physical contact in my household usually results in vom-bowls appearing and shrieks of horror. The trouble with kids is that they think they invented sex ;D

Thank you for your kind messages.

I do remember thinking about Centurions ... there was surge of joy and then the floor came up to meet me.

Just spent 2 1/2 hours at the minor injuries. Apparently I have broken my elbow and damaged the ligaments.  :(

The did do lots of tests to see if I was of a fainting disposition - which apparently I'm not. Thy also spent an inordinate amount of time taking  very tiny spec of grit out of my hand, then bandaging it up like I'd lost three fingers!

2.5 hours is pretty normal. But I'm all in favour of MI units as when they work they keep people with non-life thretening injuries out of A&E

They just enjoy sticking needles in people ;D and playing Dr's and Nurses :D

Seriously though, really pleased to hear its nothing spurious/sinister and secondly that you were bright enough to present at the unit relating to the elbow.

Really glad you went and got yourself checked out :). Hope you are feeling ok and keep your pecker up (unless that's what caused your fall :D).

Good to hear you've got sorted fsn, and a broken elbow doesn't sound much fun.  What's the recovery time on something like that?

If you are generally fit and well and this came out of the blue and wasn't down to a simple trip on crappy paving stones, you may have had a simple faint, however even faints usually have an underlying cause. Fainting is caused by a temporrary reduction of blood flow to the brain.

I am not sure what age you are (which can be relevant in some cases) was anyone with you who witnessed what happened? Your GP should refer you for some simple blood tests which can rule out (rather than rule in) all sorts of things. Low Blood Pressure, diabetes - ysetrday was also very hot and dehydration can lead to syncope (fainting).

Sorry to sound like your mum/wife/etc, but a simple trip to the GP is recommended.

In terms of your musko-skeletal injuries your GP isn't going to be of much help - the only way of knowing if there is a break is by having an xray. Any radiation of pain from joints and swelling of joints where there is a definate loss of range of movement needs to be checked out, not just for fractures but for other underlying issues - bruises can hide all sorts of things.

 ;D ;D ;D :-[

Thing that bothers me is that it may take 6 weeks to heal. 6 weeks without painting! I shall have to do some photos, because we all know that pics are a reasonable alternative way to pass time to painting.
