I have been struck down!

Yesterday, whilst walking into work, I fell over. I don't know why I fell over. I don't remember slipping or stumbling. It was just one moment walking along, next moment "here comes the floor".

whilst lying on the floor, I thought I had damaged my knee, and that does indeed look like an uncooked beefburger, but worse is that I landed on my left palm. The heel of my left hand has swollen and I have bruising down my wrist. Worse still is that I also landed on my right palm. This is cut and a but bruised, but the force of my impact has made its way up my arm to my elbow. My right elbow is swollen and painful. I can neither straighten my arm, nor bend it completely. It is comfortable at right angles - i.e. perfect for typing. My right thumb is also painful and I cannot hold my right hand steady.

I find it difficult to do certain basic functions. Socks are a no-no. Food has to be consumed with the left hand. Yesterday, I had difficulty going to the loo, but there was a nice young man there who was able to help me. In fact, he seemed keen. Actually "eager" might be a better word.  I drove myself home yesterday, and shouldn't have. I was almost physically sick by the time I got out the car.

I cannot paint.

Gentlemen. This is a cruel thing to happen to anyone in our hobby. I can only hypothesise that the Dark Lord has seen fit to distract me from my vigil by giving me other things to worry about, the better to appreciate His works. Surely he is all wise!

Yes, it's a bugger. Only thing to do is rest up. If you really can't remember how you went down it might be worth getting yourself checked over. All the best.

Now where are those HORDES of Centurions? Selling out and we cannot get more  :d

Sorry to hear. I tripped twice last week ( I am getting old I guess) and have been denied the pleasure of painting more than once in my life.
Maybe you can entertain yourself with some epic movies (Spartacus, The longest Day, Quo Vadis....)

Sorry to hear that. Look after yourself and get well soon.

I'll second the suggestion by Hertsblue that you get yourself checked over by a medic. Both to make sure the whole "floor coming up to meet you" isn't a sign of something more serious than inattention and poor paving and to make sure the elbow is merely bumped and not dislocated/ fractured.

Spartacus and Quo Vadis ... I wonder if sebigboss is thinking of the wrong sort of Centurion? :)

Get well soon F.
Sounds very, very painful.
Really sorry to hear about that !!
I think Ray's right and you should definitely get yourself given the 'once over'.

Sorry to hear of your trouble, hope you get better quickly. I second Hertsblue you should get yourself checked over :) one for your injuries, and second to discover why you fell over if you can't remember tripping or stumbling. Take care
all the best

Sorry to hear of your woes.

Can you still us an airbrush one handed?
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Sorry to hear about your accident but get yourself checked out incase you have damaged either of your wrists. Hope you get better before the Dark Lord sends his troops of Centurions to you.

Morning FSN.

Agree with others. If you are not sure what caused your fall (you described it as "I fell over. I don't know why I fell over. I don't remember slipping or stumbling. It was just one moment walking along, next moment - here comes the floor") you need to see your GP to discuss what happened and try to establish a cause.

If you are generally fit and well and this came out of the blue and wasn't down to a simple trip on crappy paving stones, you may have had a simple faint, however even faints usually have an underlying cause. Fainting is caused by a temporrary reduction of blood flow to the brain.

I am not sure what age you are (which can be relevant in some cases) was anyone with you who witnessed what happened? Your GP should refer you for some simple blood tests which can rule out (rather than rule in) all sorts of things. Low Blood Pressure, diabetes - ysetrday was also very hot and dehydration can lead to syncope (fainting).

Sorry to sound like your mum/wife/etc, but a simple trip to the GP is recommended.

In terms of your musko-skeletal injuries your GP isn't going to be of much help - the only way of knowing if there is a break is by having an xray. Any radiation of pain from joints and swelling of joints where there is a definate loss of range of movement needs to be checked out, not just for fractures but for other underlying issues - bruises can hide all sorts of things.

Nosher ;)

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.
