I'm still holding out for a name change to Pendurion.

That'd make rhymes very simple.

According to my rhyming dictionary: turion, durian, Ben-Gurion, tellurian, silurian, decurion, Arthurian, Khachaturian and holothurian.

I may have missed one or two.

You realise that to be a true epic all poetry should be written in Anglo-Saxon. All together now....  :D
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

No - sagas were in Norse....

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

Me thinks you refer to S.A.G.A, not sagas - epic Scandinavian literature, normally staring troubled female detectives.

FSN's SAGA

translated from the Old Norse ... or maybe translated by an old nurse .... whatever :)

In Pendraken's forum bold,
tales of fearless warrior are told,
silver tongued as any serpent,
made himself Centurion's servant.
Marching to the site, the forum hosting,
armed himself with many a posting,
pleading for his captive master
to be released by wicked caster.
Endlessly invited and implored
intervention by our Dark Lord.
Bereft, beleaguered and forlorn,
ever enduring posters scorn.
Gainst scorn, soft words his shield.
By humble humour armoured in the field.
The deadly blade of his persistance
slowly scything down resistance.
With Centurions soon to be released,
what topic now will stir the beast?

Ithoriel, just how old are you?
Wonderful stuff. However you do realise to complete the saga requires about 30+  more verses, with death, mayhem and luuuve. ;)

Techno

Don't encourage him !  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Then again.... :-\...Why not ?  ;)

In 6th Year at school I won the school poetry prize. According to the Head of English I won it because,"No one in their right mind would write a Viking Saga which rhymes, scans, has the appropriate level of alliteration and a viable story at any age, let alone while still at school. But then a little madness is the mark of a true poet."

Not quite 30 verses but certainly longer than this one. Be grateful you weren't subject to the full blown item :-)

I would be honoured. Every good Viking needs a saga.

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!
