I found a "quick'n'dirty" way to make good looking woods.  The video is in the post over at http://www.forward-to-richmond.com/2013/08/07/cant-see-the-forest-for-the-trees-wargame-woods-101/

Comments and suggestions are very welcome  :)
I'm about to embark on the fool's mission of setting up Battle of the Auroch Hills with 10mm figures as well as building a scale model of the battleground. Maybe next year.

It may be that you need to wait a bit in order to download the start of it. ( I've yet to figure out how to make it stream able a la YouTube )

Same for me at work and at home.

Same message here, the photo of the trees looks interesting, though.

I finally saw it !
( I downloaded it to my computer, and then look at it. I used mplayer, as I'm on a linux PC, but VLC should work fine. the link : http://www.forward-to-richmond.com/movies/Cant-see-the-forest-for-the-trees.m4v  )

I really like your trees ! good pics, too. Thanks for sharing !

Yes, the direct link worked. Very effective looking!

Thanks for the good comments folks  :)

Having done a few more, I'll add a few useful tips for assembling the woodlets.  Main point being to use a pair of scissors to snip the underside of the outer ring of trees to get a better fit.

I bit the bullet and uploaded it to YouTube and embedded it in the post. Hopefully it will run with less hassles now.
