Are these wearing the Raupenhelm or the peaked cap? If the Raupenhelm, are there any mounted generals in other ranges wearing a peaked cap?

Both strangely!  There's one pose in the helmet, one in a cap.

For alternatives, the Austrian AU17 code is in a cap of sorts, and the Schleswig SHD10 code is in a kepi which may be an easy conversion.  The Schleswig German chap SHG10 is bare-headed as well, so open to puttiness.
