New username and a return to the olde 10mm "oh shiny" Melbourne addiction

Hey guys
I've been a member of these forums under a different username til tonight (changed because after 12 years I just felt it was time for a brush up!) and even produced the odd demo sculpt over the years for what now Leon.....five-six odd years?
At one stage I had massive Medieval/WWII/Renaissance Pendraken armies but sold them off to raise money for charity when I fell out of the hobby due to work commitments a few years back, but due to a motorcycle accident last year I've been unable to work and will be for some time. Tried to get a BKC group going here in Melbourne but with little success, I fear, though FWC has met with a little better reception as the GW-hate has grown and people are looking for rules to use their 6mm armies. Pendraken ACW 10mm has taken on quite well though, some friends have even submitted the odd order to Pendraken to relive the Space Hulk/Aliens days in 10mm but that's not quite filled my cup of wargaming want.

At present I'm looking over my several dozens of bases of 10mm Pendraken figures and much as I love their BKC basing, games like Bolt Action and Rules of Engagement demand an order in order to muster single based figures and thus I'm wondering if there are any Pendraken fans in Victoria, Australia.
Especially in the Western suburbs or City who would like to touch base and either paint together with a pint or three or - God forbid! - play some games.

Best regards and may the dice gods smile on you

Hi Steve and Welcome

Spent many happy days rummaging around the Eureka shop in Carnegie before coming back to the UK

Not sure if Little Wars has been and gone yet though, but hopefully it was good this year
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Sorry, did he propose finishing an army and then actually playing with it?  Sounds a bit modern to me.

What's wrong with having them lay unpainted where the wife can't find them?
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Hi Steve welcome to the forum, I read your post with interest. You mean you can actually play games with these figures, I thought you just bought loads of figures half painted them, then get distracted by another members great paint job, hide the half done stuff in  boxes and draws and buy even more ;) well that's what I do . look forward to seeing your figures
all the best

Welcome! Welcome back to the hobby!

The good thing about getting rid of those huge armies is that you know you have room for massive new ones!
