Some pics and report from my last game of Warmaster Ancients. :)

Hope you enjoy them!

Nice looking report, however...
Think your gap the English front deployed in was too wide and the going too dry. :-\

Looks good but the English flank was certainly hanging in the air, and they paid the price.

Nice looking game, and the castle is great.

Have to agree with the others, though, that the English line was too short to fill the gap. (Well, we would, wouldn't we?)  ;)
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Thanks! :)

Yes the flanks were not secured. Henry was not fast enough to get to the forests and place the stakes. French army did good movements and orders to advance quickly. Against an enemy that outnumbers you so heavily and with a lot of cavalry, that is decisive. The moment of deciding when and where put the stakes is quite exciting and tactical, if you delay it trying to get to the forests, you suffer the risk of being attacked by cavalry without the protection of the stakes... It is a difficult battle for the English to win.

Regarding the mud, I had thought of it. I played first the battle in a smaller game assuming the battlefield was mudded, and treating all units in the open as Slow. It balanced more the game for the english (even they are affected by the Slow rule too for moving and placing the stakes). But for this larger game, with many more units to move and as the French have lower command values than Henry I decided not to use it. But Charles managed to move his army quite well  ;)

Next time I will play again the scenario with mud and compare.

Thanks for any feedback and comments ;)
