Biggest problem I've had today was getting a broken 1mm tungsten drill bit out of a white metal figure.
I've said some very naughty words !!!! >:(  >:(

So, given HMP Chelmsford's little error on Friday, today has been less than fun at work.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

True !! (Thank you, Mark. :P )

It was one of those times when the bit got 'stuck' in the model.
As one hand was holding the model, and the other hand the Dremmel, I wasn't fast enough to figure out a way to switch the Dremmel off without letting go of the model.
I didn't fancy letting go of the model and risk that flying off at warp speed, as I was sure that the drill bit WAS going to snap if I did that.

Three weeks ago I discovered that my ~2008 MP3 player had died. Wonderful thing, small & easy to use. Only held 4GB so I needed to rotate albums or radio shows in & out depending on my preferences.

No problem, everything I have as an audio file will now fit on my phone. But . . . the media player is clunky and doesn't work the way I want it to. Tried a couple of others, but they seem to be first & foremost advert delivery systems, with any functionality buried behind their primary purpose. So I can still listen to music on the go, but the experience is downgraded.

This makes me sad :(

This morning, my ~2012 Kindle is showing similar signs, won't hold a charge. At least I can plug it in to the PC and backup everything that's on it. But it looks like I'll need a new one.

This makes me sadder :( :(

The tablet (~2013) and the laptop (~2015) will probably be next.

And I'm not looking forward to getting to grips with whatever version of Windows we're on now.

I bought a new PC a couple of months back as the PC I had had for 12 years was not able to run Windows 11.  I was still running windows 10 and did not want to compromise security.

I have a policy of not installing any Microsoft product until its at least 18 monts past official release date. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of transfering everything across and some of the setup was far easier thna it was last time. eg Outloook contacted my Broadband provider itself and set up the email.

For over twenty years I've had the taskbar vertically on the right side of the screen. Apparently you can't do that now.

I also use a local account, rather than being permanently logged in to Microsoft. Think this is still possible, but is made deliberately hard to do. Must have the plebs permanently connected to the mothership, eh? How else can we serve them adverts?

I saw them at the London Palladium with my eldest daughter on their last two tours (she was 17 and 19 years old at the time).

She probably significantly reduced the average age of the crowd with her presence...  :O)

About 3 years ago I quoted "Going Underground" and one of the women at work looked at me as if to say "What the hell you on about?"  Did make the old punk I worked with laugh

If the site I found is correct about the date, I saw them on the 27th May '72, which means I WAS 19.

I can't post the image here on my phone, but just been looking at a thread of some of the odd things that used to get advertised with celebrities (Actor Ronald Reagan promoting Chesterfield cigarettes).

The one of OJ Simpson promoting Hertz Car Rental us... different..
