The David Lynch version was badly let down by some truly terrible special effects, trying to cram the whole book into one movie and a couple of really stupid moments - the one where the Emperor & his top generals main the guns stands out as spectacularly bad.

Saw the new one on Amazon Prime - very good I thought. True to the (first half of the) book. Looking forward to the second.

No problem with sound levels. Unlike Tenet - one of the very few movies I have walked out of.

No problem with the sound but I agree with you.  I have no idea what it was really about - I haven't read the book which would probably help but I shouldn't have to.  The film was one of those that is instantly forgetable.

I've just done an online quiz "Which Disney/Pixar character are you most like".

It said I got 0/8 correct...

I am now confused.

"Confused" was a great character.

Loved her and that little song she sang ... no, no, no ... that was Snow White. Who did the "Let it Snow, let it snow, the pole never bother me any way" ... no, that was Elsa who appeared with Virginia McKenna and a meerkat.

You know, I think I'm a little Cinderella.

Attended Colours wargames show today and it was uncomortably hot on all floors, but especially the top one. Hard to concentrate and had to keep popping outside for a drinks break and some fresh air. 37C in the car when I set off for home :o !
