Well......

If I've seemed a bit distracted from time to time recently, that's been because 'we've' (Von, far more than me) been rushing around trying to sort out the MIL's entry into a residential home.
Today was the day she said goodbye to the 'half way house' hospital...and hello to her new abode.

Huge weight off both our minds.....especially as she behaved almost exactly the opposite to what we were expecting.
Have to feel sorry for the MIL, as she suffers from both vascular dementia and alzheimers, so she's not truly aware as to what's going on....at least, not for very long.....But she surprised the pair of us by going down to one of the lounges in the home, and talking to some of the other residents. :o :o :o

She's normally so 'anti-social' that the only people she has contact with are me, Von and the occasional district nurse.

Really hope she's happy there.  :)

Looks like a good result, Phil (much better than our initial experience when my MIL was admitted to a care home). My late Aunt used to say that she had had her life and wouldn't want to stop her children enjoying theirs. You've both done well looking after your MIL and now deserve a break to enjoy your own lives together.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
