Oh-oh!  :-[

Good job I got those sculpting tools from Leon.

Anyway, may I point the gentlemen of the forum to BBC4 tonight at 9pm? The always enjoyable Lucy Worsley talks "War of the Roses".

I put in my main order for Pendraken this month - Napoleonic Prussians mostly.

Realised I'd forgotten some witches, and some Prussian blue paint.

Ordered.

Also, apparently I ordered 2 Huey helicopters.

Anyone know why?

They are thank you. Tried painting this weekend and lasted about 30mins.

Perhaps I really want to start Viet Nam gaming?

Gentlemen of the Forum,

As you may be aware, this forum is a place where I dump all my unwanted thougth - or rather those that won't get me arrested. I have been plagued with a series of thoughts and the only way to expunge this cavalcade of inanity is to share it with you, esteemed colleagues. In fact, it's not my fault that this chain of inconsequentiality was forged, it is due to the British Broadcasting Corporation. There is a program on the BBC's premier radio station (Radio 4) called "The Museum of  Curiosity" in which three eclectic guests offer objects and concepts to the musuem.

The last episode I listened to had a etymologist offering a book of Tom Swiftys to the museum.  A Tom Swifty (or Tom Swiftie) is, accoding to Wikipaedia, a phrase in which a quoted sentence is linked by a pun to the manner in which it is attributed. Examples are:

"Pass me the shellfish," said Tom crabbily.
"Can I go looking for the Grail again?" Tom requested.

Yes, gentle readers, this has set off in my mind a plethora of military related Tom Swiftys which, despite your howls of protest, I shall share:

"I like Russian tanks" she said teasingly.

"Damned Americans can't pronounce junior offices ranks properly" he complained loosely.

"I shall need the scalpel" said Techno cuttingly, "and the drill" he added pointedly. "But not", he continued scratchily, "the burr".

"I need some scarlet, crimson and magenta paint" he admitted readily.
"Gloss?" she asked brightly, "or perhaps metallic?" she continued sparkilingly.
"Matt." he responded dully. "With good coverage." he intoned opaquely.
"Are they for a British pre-1900 company"? She mused coyly.
"No!" He retorted hotly, "fire demons!"
"And demon hounds" he finished doggedly.

"I think something has been left out in this one?" he said without erring.

Yeah I know, not your format, but that's what you get on this forum in this thread.
