A maths problem for you.

Nobby has 11 bookcases downstairs. Each one has 7 shelves, each one is 80cm wide.

Nobby spends two days tidying said bookcases.

Nobby takes about 2m of books to the charity shop.

How is it that Nobby still doesn't have enough book space?

I have a suggestion for the next painting competition, which should even up the field.

Rather than the old, passe "let's sit in a warm room with good lighting and paint beautifully", let's go for some Extreme Painting. I suggest that the entrant has to have been painted in some extremly trying condition for example, whilst hanging off a cliff,  during a parachute descent, after 16 pints of Old Foot Rotter, in a rainstorm, or in the back of a Transit Van being driven up the M6 by a p***k who usually drives a BMW.

This, I believe would add a bit of spice to the competition. It would also have a very small deleterious effect upon my painting, so I would have more of a chance of winning.
