Watch how you go riding down to work with a battery balanced on your handlebars.  :o

Battery was OK, managed to get it charged up, popped it back in and... nothing.  Still wouldn't start.  So we had to resort to the AA instead, who came out and got it going in 30 seconds.  Turns out some fancy bit of electronics decided it was cold outside, and put too much fuel through when we shifted the car off the drive originally, resulting in a flooded engine.  If we'd let it run for a couple of minutes, all this excess fuel would have been burnt off, but as we were only moving the car 10 yards, the unburnt fuel just sat there causing the problem.

A new one on me, never had that happen before, but it's all fixed now, and we can go out for our planned New Years Eve meal!

Hope everyone has a good night, and Happy New Year to you all!

Yep, my old car gave up in the middle of a roundabout when the electronics passed out. LIke Leon, the AA sorted it in minutes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

The missus made a lovely salad the other day - lettuce, red onion, red pepper, walnuts, feta cheese and crispy bacon with a lemon dressing.

Why is it whenever I eat salad, I wonder why I don't eat salad more?

Good point !!
Mrs T and I go through phases where we seem to eat salads almost all of the time.....But then get fed up with them.....'Cos we've eaten so many !! ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil.....(Up into the attic again later to have another go at the roof where the ridge tile blew off.....and see if I can do a better job, before someone can actually come round and put a new tile back on !.....What fun !!)

In our house it's stir-frys. We've tried them with prawns, salmon, diced chicken - you name it. Stick in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, white wine vinegar and lemon juice and serve with rice or noodles.  :-bd :-bd :-bd

I became a born again salad eater last summer when I realised I could make a great salad without using letuce or cucumber, two of the most worthless food stuffs ever, but with chillis, rocket and balsamic vinegar - I like my salads to bite back.

Tom Kerridge had a recipe on the telly a few weeks ago for a sald dressing using warm dripping, presumably you have to eat it before it sets  :o

You can have some Techno blood for flavour...If you want it !

Just now......

"I'll just go and use the log splitter dear,"....Sez I.
"I can't watch you."....Sez Mrs T.
"Can't you trust me to do even THAT..... I'll be fine !".....

OOOPS !....Log splits...Flies backwards, JUST hitting my forehead.

Blood spurt...murder....(I'll keep my gob shut until I've cleared the trail up.)
Amazing how much of a mess it makes with just the most miniscule of cuts on the forehead...... ;)

Cheers - Phil

Nope... :P....I just find it extraordinary how much blood you can leave in a trail of (about) 20 yards/meters when you've got a tiny 'snick' just around the hairline....the 'cut' (HAH) being about 1/4 of an inch (what's that ?....about 6mm) long.

Mrs T knows....I've owned up.......In case she finds any blood in the kitchen......She'd have noticed !  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cheers - Phil  :-[

Will. :)

It was like being given the slightest 'poke' (steady boys ;)) with a finger !
It was only when I felt something 'dribbling' down my face .....and the fact that I'd got a red tint all over my glasses...(What the F's that then ?) That I thought I might have done something a bit silly.

I'm absolutely fine......Nothing more than a 'nick'.....But.....It was just SO impressive leaving SUCH a trail of blood from the pole barn back into the kitchen...While trying to hide the fact from the other half.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

How many more times, Phil - hit the log with the axe, not the other way round...
