Went to bed last night at 8:30 feeling rough.
Spent most of the night tossing and turning, woke up at five feeling like I'd been kicked in the nuts and I'd been gargling sandpaper!
Oh, and the upstairs toilet dripping through to the kitchen!
Not the best morning ever,blòóðý kids xmas cold! -:)

We got up for showers and couldnt turn the water off so its been running for about 5 hours...plumber is off to get a new bit for it that has broken

Feeling better now, shivers and aches mainly gone, but there is a house full of nice food and it hurts to swallow!

So far, for the first time in 4 years, my annual bug seems to have held off.  I did go down with something a few weeks back, so maybe that was it coming early.

And to update on the car battery, I got it out, connected it up to the charger, flicked the plug on, and.... the charger's broke.

Oh dear.
Can you borrow a charger from a neighbour or friend.
Then at least you could tell if the old battery's completely dead.

Watch how you go riding down to work with a battery balanced on your handlebars. 

Battery was OK, managed to get it charged up, popped it back in and... nothing.  Still wouldn't start.  So we had to resort to the AA instead, who came out and got it going in 30 seconds.  Turns out some fancy bit of electronics decided it was cold outside, and put too much fuel through when we shifted the car off the drive originally, resulting in a flooded engine.  If we'd let it run for a couple of minutes, all this excess fuel would have been burnt off, but as we were only moving the car 10 yards, the unburnt fuel just sat there causing the problem.

A new one on me, never had that happen before, but it's all fixed now, and we can go out for our planned New Years Eve meal!

Yep, my old car gave up in the middle of a roundabout when the electronics passed out. LIke Leon, the AA sorted it in minutes.

The missus made a lovely salad the other day - lettuce, red onion, red pepper, walnuts, feta cheese and crispy bacon with a lemon dressing.

Why is it whenever I eat salad, I wonder why I don't eat salad more?
