Blather, Waffle and Poppycock!

I have one or two familygroups of red squirrels living in the forrest thats bordering the garden, often much entertainment can be had watching the furry tails.

Once saw a black squirrel in Austria. So tame that he sat in the middle of the path as if expecting to be fed. When we walked past him you could almost hear the cry of "cheapskates!".

Just to share before I go outside and help the better half with the outdoor animals.....

I mentioned weeks ago about the plague of horse flies, bot flies, midges etc that have been causing havoc over this summer in the wilds of SW Wales.
Mrs Techno and I decided that it would be a good idea to get something to help 'kill/remove' the various little b*ggers that upset the horses, especially.

"Oh...why don't you try an electric fly swat ?" suggested our farrier.

It arrived today !!

Bloomin' heck !.....This things got some 'Ooomph'......Not far short of a tazer I reckon.....I'm certainly not going to test on my hand.
Boy, does it work....You don't have to 'swat' the little sods....Just touch them.

CRACK !!....Dead (fried) Bot fly.......I'm well impressed.
(Note to self....Do not bring this into contact with a horse itself, unless you fancy being kicked into next week.)
And NO.....I didn't spend all afternoon chasing flies....I was a good boy and carried on pushing putty.....(But NOW..... )

Which type is it?  We've had a couple of the 'tennis racket' style ones, and they're great fun!  The unit is full of flies at the moment, literally hundreds of the little sods.  If you leave a coffee mug on the side for more than 10 minutes, it gets attacked.

Typical......Just about every bloomin' fly has disappeared here now......They must know what's in store if they hang around.

We bought one of the tennis racket type for my brother in law. Gave it to him at a family BBQ in the garden, after the consumption of a fair amount of beer. He had the bright idea of "What happens if I touch it to my tongue?" 

We had all had enough to drink to be too slow to stop him (or else just let him do it!)

How we laughed!

Even more hair-raising is watching the town drunk peeing on the track at Tottenham Court Road tube station, inches from the live rail. What made it doubly horrendous was the knowledge that we were waiting for the last train and it was a fifteen mile walk home....
