It's true.

I was the 80s. I was young, I was innocent, I didn't know what I was getting into. A friend  introduced me to Traveller. Said it was just a game. Not like D&D. You could be cool and do Traveller. It had spaceships and planets and lasers and grav craft. Then came the plunge ... the Vargyr, the Aslan, the robots. I was hooked. I spent about 10 years in Traveller. It wasn't just Mega Traveller, it was Traveller 2300 and Striker and all the other systems.

Eventually, with the help of poverty and HaT industries, I was coaxed back onto the historical path. But you're never really free of Traveller. Every now and again, it come back and pulls me back in.

I could have resisted, but Pendraken did have to produce that SF range. I'm technically classed as human. I was weak. I couldn't resist.

And that's why I may have some SF troopers.

And some other bits from that range.

And the zombies.

Lots of zombies.

But essentially, I'm historical .,.

So today's tally has been 3 elephants and 30 slingers for the Punic Wars, plus 11 merchant ships and 9 Sunderland a/c in 1:3000.  (Yesm, I found some partly completed warships too.)

Tomorrow? Probably some Numidian cavalry, plus more hoplites? And the convoy escort of 2 cruisers, 6 destroyers and 6 corvettes.

And some Swordfish.

This is so cathatric - emptying the "nearly finished" boxes.

Oooh! Just found some medieval carts! Chuck them in as well.  :D

I'd like to thank Sunjester and Orcs for today's game with Pendraken WotR/SPear and Shield.  I'd especially like to thank Sj for his sterling service of buggering about on my left flank while I caused first Orcs and then his Ally ran away due to me defeating units. That is the version MY herald is writing down.

Sj also seems to be labouring under the delusion there is such thing as a 'Spare bottle of beer'.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Today's tally is 17 1:3000 warships & 12 Swordfish, and 2 gods (Athene and Hephestus.) The hoplites and Numdians started but not completed, and progress made on Aphrodite and Hera.

I got slightly sidetracked into tidying my stores. Apparently, I have

  • 58 "spare" paintbrushes of various sizes.
  • 56 ready use and 21 spare/duplicate Vallejo paints (including the dreaded fluorescents)
  • 113 other paints (still working through duplicates)
  • 2 ready use and 8 spare bottles of ink (used for washes)
  • 6 washes and weathering powder

This is what comes of stashing your purchases in different places.

The sad thing is that I didn't find the gloss varnish I was looking for.   :(

Given that mix I'm not sure if he is painting biplanes, torpedoes or actual fish.
