Hi Jim
First ones are converted Hotchkiss 39's one to Pak 40(75mm) one to (10.5cm sp) the last is a command/op tank all used by 21st Panzer in Normandy

The last vehicle is a Birch Gun a AA /SP gun with a 18 pdr quick fire used as an AA gun in Late 20's to mid 30's

A Birch Gun eh? ideal for the VBCW stuff. Looked up my notes on it:
IOC: 1927
crew: 6
road speed: 22kmh
armour: 6mm gun shield only, rest unarmoured
armament: 18pdr 83.4mm Mk.5 field-AA gun
ammo: APHE, HE, S
weight: 12tons
number built: 7

Which differs from Wiki, which cites 45kmh road speed, and a 75mm AA gun of unspecified type.

Birch gun is certainly novel!! Wiki seems to say 18pdr early on then 75mm later.

If you chech out this site it gives the complete history of the 18pdr including it rebarreling to 75mm and the use of the main part of the 18pdr less barrel in making 25pdrs http://www.landships.freeservers.com/british_18pdr.htm

Hello All

Good news on the Birch Gun. I must admit, I have sat with the Vickers Medium and thinking of how to saw off bits and add others  .

Obviously an indirect fire weapon, how many of us are going to use them as pseudo-assault guns? 

Curses, there goes that cunning plan. Now I can sit and wait for the Birch Gun, I'll have to sit now with the Vickers 6 ton and think how I can add a 40mm pompom for AA capability :-



Maybe I can use the pompom from the Boar War range. Any ideas on whether they'd look ok. Yes I know that only Thailand are listed as having these but where's that fun in that

just done a bit of digging you would be better of using the british WW1 aa trucks gun as these where 2 pdr's or 40mm hope this helps also the british army used the artillery tractor based on the mark e in france in 1939/40 for towing heavy guns I think its called a dragon its basicaly your AA version without the sides

I might have to play around with the dragon mediums mki and mkii though, they look fun, and I may still get to cut up a Vickers medium mkii  :-





Of course then I'd have to get medium/heavy artillery to go with them.
