My Ex wife was like that.  I once made £200 selling stuff on ebay, spent £120 buying crappy tubs she wanted for the garden, but she still moaned when I bought toys with the other £80.

I have had to scale down crimbo as we've got less coming in now, so the kids have priority over me and the wife! Having 4 of them is a pain to buy for, but its worth it to see their faces on the xmas morning!
We have agreed to get each other presents in the new year, so its not all bad as I'm after an optivisor too, and some Wargames factory zombies if I'm lucky!
