How much of a 10mm French cockade do you paint?

I usually only get as far as white and red. I've painted some blue centres but at this scale it can make the cockade look a bit messy. I did think instead of using a single dot of a purple/violet colour (a red-blue mix) to 'fool' the eye. Napoleonic heresy?

Depends how big and where it is. I am assuming this is Napoleonics. 18mm 1806 - Yes definitely, 10mm, I'd just go outer and middle. On the 1870 Prussians I paint the cockade on the Prussian helmet straps as it is a very obvious feature.

OMG, its 10mm and they're painting cockades.
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Why, what did you do with yours?  :P

 ;D With his cockade!  :P

(I apologise for the slight thread hijack, but I would still say it would depend on the figure and how big the cockade is).
