Hi folks,

Is anyone out there using these rules for WSS, if so can you tell me how you base them. The 18 figure battalions look ok in 28mm, but i think would look a bit sad in our chosen 10mm.

Steve.

Hi ya Im using them as either 3 or 5 bases of foot (30x20 8 fig per base) for my games and 3-5 bases per squadron (30x20 3 fig per base) looks scrummy as for my SYW and works fine

That will look good, it looks as if I will have to downsize all my armies (as I have just been downsized) into 10mm including the lovely LoA warfare 28mm figures I started.   :'( Oh well will just have to nag Clib to crack on with Pendraken range.

I sculpt both ranges so there's nagging from both directions! Don't worry I have more 10mm in front of me right now that I'm working on.

I'm going to do some painting experiments shortly, and if they work in streamlining the process I am seriously considering using the 28mm bases for BLB and putting three times the figures on them, i.e. infantry 18 to a base.

My Hero!
I was considering just doing the usual reduction in bases from 28mm to 10mm however that basing idea sounds interesting, would really like to see some pics when done.

Oh please,
I have just finished my first french battalion and am half way through the next on 30 x 30mm bases as per the goat major. And know you throw that one in about big bases and loads of figures.
Its just so unfair......

For LOA I've been basing on 3 x 30mm square bases. Two ranks of 4 figures on each with the middle base having a 3rd rank of pikes where required. You can see some pics here - it took some experimentation but in the end I was reasonably happy with the bases. For WSS you are probably doing without pikes, so you could maybe do 20mm deep bases. There's a few pics on my blog here ...
