8 on a base, two and a half hours to paint.

This is where I must be going wrong. I rarely do more than a one hour stretch. I must try a longer session today and complete some SYW Prussian hussars, some SYW Austrian Carabiniers and some Prussian artillery.

No, you're probably right to do so, DP. Take a break every hour is my golden rule.

Well at this stage the hussars and carabineers are done. The artillery was swapped for a 32 figure unit of Prussian 35th Fusiliers and I'm quite surprised that these too are almost finished, thus I can get on with the artillery. The next stage is to try out the magic wash, as used by Fat Wally. May well start a new photo thread to report on that.
