How to annoy a power gamer, "What have you got?"
Wait for usual list of tiggers, super tiggers, almighty tiggers and unbreakable/unkillable infantry, eventually, they may enquire about your force once they've spent twenty minutes explaining their special rules, inability to lose, unlimited range and massive antitank capacity (do yo u think they are compensating for something)...
Tell them they're deployed in 6'x4' of mixed ap/at mines, apart from anything in contact with that tree there!
Sit back and wait for the sulk...

;D ;D ;D :d :d :d

O Dinas Powys

Just noticed it's this thread's birthday tomorrow  :D

Where did the time go  :o

Anyway, managed a couple of painting session over the weekend and think that almost every Tusk figure got a wash, over- or dry-brush! Pictures to follow ASAP... ;)

Cheers!

O Dinas Powys

Happy Birthday "A Tale of Four Gamers"  :D

Time for a party  <:-P <:-P <:-P

In the last year I have (mostly) painted a tribe of gnomes; (almost) painted enough megafauna for small Pleistocene ecosystems; and painted, based and entered into the 2012 Competition a small selection of fungies. Obviously, countless other projects have been considered, some have added to the lead hillock, fewer still have actually been started...  :'(

Doesn't read like much, but with the small amount of painting time I've managed to scrounge from real life I feel I've achieved and this thread has been a great help with that.

Cheers guys and here's to a productive second year  8->

Happy one year!
Yay!  <:-P <:-P <:-P

I have really enjoyed this thread, seeing what everyone else is up to and what hints I can pick up.
I celebrated by assembling my missing 1870 Bavarian Jagers and two bases of French Guard Horse artillery.
As well as inking the sand on some 15 mm rebased Americans.

I find that much of what I do these days consists of ancilliary activities in support of my wargaming figures. For example: painting, basing and flocking wall sections and hedges, adding steel paper to the bases of all my WW2 figures and magnetic sheets to their carrying boxes so that the little devils don't move in transit, basing and painting up railway track for all periods from 1850 onwards etc, etc.

Actual figures completed include two brigades of 1866 Austrians, a division of ditto Saxons, WW2 14th Army and Japanese forces, ditto Soviet and German Kursk forces and a whole stack of FOW US mech infantry gear.

But, of course, I don't go out to work any more....

Well just finished off Craig's hill at the weekend and am now busily scratch building a small river for the Colours table. Finished off a Stampede base of sheep this morning, again for Colours, and am onto the main Saxon warband this evening. Nice to be painting after the Summer break 8).

Do sheep really stampede?  :D

Hmmm, I'll do some research Ray and get back to you ;).

Matt J

I think only herd animals can stampede, a group of sheep is a flock so technically they are classed as birds (isn't the english language mad).

although I have been stampeded by sheep before

Started base colours on 2nd Bavarian Division.  :D
Waiting to do 3rd coat of white, on the airing cupboard! Previous occupants had an interesting shade of beige that is coming right through the first two coats!  ~X(
Had enough of 15mm for a while. Just finished a platoon of US Bastogne Airborne on winter bases. Realised I'm an infantry stand short, but I can swap in a zook instead!  8-}
