I decided to give this one its own topic (in addition to the Taiping Rebellion topic also here).

One can cobble together the western forces from what's available in several of the Pendraken lines, but there don't seem to be any Chinese for them to go up against. A variety of Chinese types that could be used in the colonial period would be great. Say Taiping rebellion through 1920s/30s interwar years? Maybe that's a bit too broad but ANYTHING would be lovely (and I'm not that much of a fanatical purist anyway). Thanks!

What we really need to call for is the creation of more generic 20th century stuff. There is minimal difference between so many moderns, yet the clamour for more and more is deafening. If a few stadard and interchangeable types were produced, there'd be leisure for making distinctive stuff (like the Chinese you mention) that is completely missing in any form.
Good luck with your call for Chinese, but I wish I had more hope you'd succeed.

And me too please...

Some generic Chinese with pole arms and hand weapons could do for a whole range of periods when you think about it. Then just add the period specific figures to fill out the ranges as and when

You`ve got my vote!!! I´ve seen little of these period, but it seems that between the opium wars and early Xinhai revolution (1911) there weren´t many aesthetical changes in the chinese outfit.
