Personally, I would argue that figures fall into the "a picture's worth a thousand words" catagory. 10mm figures in particular can give an image of a fighting unit unobtainable by any other means. And wasn'r Paddy Griffiths and co aptly described as "the Plymouth Bretheren of wargaming"?  ;)

Went to Colours 2012 wargame show held at Newbury racecourse yesterday and had a great day out.

More pictures and my battle report on a game I played.

Enjoy.
Unlike some people, I feel under no obligation to pretend that only one war-gaming scale is true, and that any others 6mm/10mm/15mm/25mm are mistaken; or that I know better than people themselves what is right for them to use. The point is precisely for all war-gamers to decide for themselves.

A surprising amount of work to get these done, and there are more pictures of these and other SJG OGRE/GEV stuff on my blog here:

I'm running demo games at Dragonmeet, which held at Kensington town hall here in London, on the 1st of December. Come and say hello if you are coming?

Very nicely done!

I'm trying to finish up an ECW army so I can get back to sci-fi! Your pics aren't helping any!

Sorry to be such a distraction.

More VOTOMS goodness, as I was able to acquire some Takara F/144 micro scale sets off eBay.

Very nice in fact. Lots of detail, finely sculpted and made in scale, for something that doesn't exist I know that is oxymoronic, but they are to the specifications laid down by the designers of the anime show.

I just had to go one step further after finishing off my VOTOMS by painting the three lenses on them red, green and blue:

I'm not sure if AARs about giant walking robot machines of death are of any interest, but just in case they are, here is a link?

Thank you.

I can tell you though that they are a labour of love. The blood, sweat and tears in making these..., well more hours work than I care to remember really.

A bit like running the campaign. Hours of my life spent in preparation for games. Sometime I wonder if it is all worthwhile? Then I remember I actually enjoy making things and that is enough to keep me gong.

Great looking terrain, PiP. And I like the idea of reducing levels as damage accrues.  :o

It's all part of the Epiphany project to simplify the BattleTech rules and play larger games in a shorter period of time.
