Hi,

I am looking for recommendations for rules suitable for Burgundian/French scraps. Whats good, whats bad, any particularly good for 10mm?

Thanks in advance,

Craig

Duke Speedy of Leighton

I'll get shouted down by the crowd here, but I like Hail Caesar, especially now they have army lists.
You may refer to me as: Your Grace, Duke Speedy of Leighton.

fred.

I too like HC.

Recently we have been playing lots of Kings of War.

As both are unit based they work well with 10mm figures.

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I really love De Bellis Multitudinis Magistorum, DBMM, but only my opinion ;)

Warmaster Medieval would be my go-to for that scrap.

Avoid DBR. You'll have SHI slugging it out until 4 a.m.

Fenton

Impetus...and although its dropped out of favour Vis Bellica
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

May I suggest you try the free Kallistra medieval rules?
Or Dan Mersey (of Dux Bellorum fame)'s medieval playtest rules?

cheers

bombshell games

I just released MAYHEM a couple of weeks ago, and although it's billed as a fantasy mass battle game, I think it would work really well for ancients and medieval gaming. It uses a custom build system so it would mostly be a matter of simply leaving the fantasy elements out.

If any ancients/medieval players happen to pick it up, then I'd love to hear what era specific rules they would like to see addressed for a non-fantasy version of the game.
