I played all my Brigade F&F with 15mm, but the quick answer no matter the scale is that is doesnt really matter as long as everyone uses the same , For 15mm I used 25x25 as it was easy to order or make myself, I think the proper scale was 1 1/4 inch wide or something like that

If I was going to do it in 10mm then I think I would still go for 25x25
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Thnaks Fenton for your replies to various posts of mine - what is confusing me is that the rules seem to be saying one rank of figures per stand - SteveJ on his blog has them in two ranks counting as two stands....30 x 30 so guess these are 15mm...

I would go two ranks...looks prettier, In Brigade F&F it doesnt make a difference to the number of figures on the stand, I have only played one game of Regimental F&F and there was no specific mention of ranks or number of figures on the stand

@ Duane

thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to post that link - no wonder I was confused about stands and bases.

All seems clear now and I also understand where SteveJ was coming from too - eureka!

I shall go with 25mm square bases and probably 8 figures in two ranks of four per base - which equals two stands in 'line'.  I will also use casualty markers to show a stand loss, as suggested.

As far as I can see, following the TMP thread, this will work fine - so thanks again!

I've recently rebased to generic.  30mm bases for F&F, TCHAE, Peter Pig and BP.  7-8 figs per base, 4 front line, 3 close and inbetween - accross the centre of the base.  Gping to put a Leon Die holder on command stands
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.
