Hi all

OK so this is the after action report on the "Ultimate BKCII" post.

Setting: a fictional last desperate attack by the Axis forces in north Africa catches a British vanguard by surprise.

The Rules: the army Commanders were put in separate rooms and given a map of the board and counters to represent forces etc...
The Commanders on the table could only follow instruction given to them from the COs in the other rooms. :-\

The outcome: well, fun was had by the table commanders, when mental orders were received from COs. But the COs in the other rooms were totally blind and relied on table commanders to use Recce to relay information to them about enemy forces.
The Brits smashed the vast bulk of the Italian forces with some quite well co-ordinated artillery (considering that the CO was in a different room). The battle culminated in the Axis commanders woeful gamble that a Mine field blocking his only Panzer Battalion was a dummy...wrong move! ;D Needles to say the Panzers took a good kicking from the mines and then were pummeled to bits from 25pdrs and 6pdr ATGs

This was a dry run game, just to see if it worked and it will need some tweaking. Will be posting again when we do this again.

Thanks, Dave

We are now into orders for Turn 3 of our virtual game run by Craig (Tiny Terrain). It's great fun and plays so differently to a normal BKC game. At the end Craig has said he will post everything on a Blog for all to see.

Hi

I was the british player doing the fighting on table and it was hilarious.

My first attempt at catching a load of Italian infantry in the open with my off table priests resulted in it falling on my own men.

I forgot to mark down the hill id numbers so had to ask for for them which took 3 turns.

my orders to move my churchills were vague so they only moved once, but fortunately they moved in front of two italian tank battalions which only managed to scratch their paint a bit.

We were a bit luckier later when the off table 7.2" batteries pezzeled the italians then my priests hit them ouch.

I told the two axis on table players near the end of the game that the minefields were real but the cinc in another room ordered them to cross it.

I nearly wet my pants when they told me they had to cross it, come to daddy.

Great game needs a few tweaks can`t wait for the next one.

Sorry no photo`s maybe the next one

In my opinion field defences and artillery are way too cheap in BKC II.

Jim.
