I'm told that the adjective "gay" was subverted in San Fransisco via the acronym "Good as you", and "camp", though seldom used by Americans these days, was a NY police acronym for "known as male prostitute". One wonders if "Quite unusual, even extremely naughty" is waiting for reevaluation.
