I was going to do individual armies (both sides) for the following conflicts:

Covenanter Rebellion of 1679
1689-1692 Scottish Jacobite Rising
Williamite â€" Jacobite War in Ireland

Way too much. So decided to do a ‘generic’ hypothetical/fictional force for each side in a Scottish campaign inspired by VBCW.

Rebels:

Commanded by James VII

Jacobite Irish.
Commanding general
1 regiment horse
1 regiment dragoons
3 battalions foot
artillery

2. Jacobite Highlanders (Most of these are coming from an existing Montrose army)
MacDonell of Glengarry commanding
Clan Mackenzie
Clan Grant of Glenmoriston
Clan Stewart
Clan MacDonald
artillery

3. Other Disaffected Scots.

Commanding general
1 regiment horse
1 regiment dragoons
2 battalions infantry
1 Covenanter contingent (these are not the Covenanters from ECW times, they are best represented by variously armed civilians on foot).
artillery

Government:

Commanded by Orange William.

2 regiments of horse,
2 regiments of dragoons,
5 battalions of foot
artillery.

Once the rebels are completed, there's no need to wait for the 'Govt.' forces to start fighting.  The various rebel factions depicted weren't exactly bosom buddies.

I'm using old list LoA for the rebels and intend to use the new list LoA for the 'Govt.'

That's the plan anyway  :-\

Sounds very interesting and a nice take on the AVBCW idea.

What rules are you going for? I've got BtLB (Mark 2) meself.

Rules? Haven't got that far, once I've got some formations together I'll play around with them to see what I think fits.  I do have a feeling that irregular warfare will feature quite strongly in a Scottish campaign. So 'Irregular Wars: Conflict at the World’s End' perhaps? Basing will be 40mm frontage, 6 musketeers ; 8 pike and command; 4 mounted and 5-7 irregulars to a base.
