I'm just wondering, but I have to get some opinions before I start buying loads of miniatures. :d
For those of you that play using BKC, do you use 10mm aircraft? I heard that some players use 3mm or 6mm aircraft instead.

Please help. Thanks, Peter
I will stand, or I will fall. But I will not sit.

Hi

I use 1/144 aircraft so I can use them as objectives as well, or if pushed the 2d types mentioned here http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,4522.0.html

Cheers

I've used both 1/100 and 1/144 for my games. For the amount of time they are on the table, it doesn't really matter IMHO. For more obscure stuff I now use the 2d route as per my Blog, kindly linked by Grumpy in the previous mail.

I use 1/144 planes myself but I wouldn't have a problem with an opponent using 6mm or smaller.  For most games you won't need more than one or two models.
Have you seen the rivets on that?

The Russian Zvezda company makes a small range of 144th WW2 aircraft. They're cheap and easy to put together. The range is limited though.

The Zvezda models are very good value for money and very easy to put together. Another route are the Italieri 1/100 diecast planes that require minimal assembly and are pre-painted. Ditto Revel but these are plastic kits.

I try to use 10mm scale if I can - but, as others have noted, it's not even necessary to have a model really - although, of course, you're more likely to roll good hits if you've got a model.

Oh - and making propeller and / or strafing / bombing noises will increase that likelihood exponentially too  :D

That reminds me of the New Tricks episode when Brian joined the wargamers. If ever something set back the wargaming image, it was that!  :'(
