Just finished up my first unit of Pontifical Zouaves, ready to face off against the Redshirts and Piedmontese (once I paint those):

Excellent. A nice change from the run-of-the-mill.  8)

These look amazing watching this project. What are you intending to use for redshirts? Would American Civil War Union fit?

nikharwood

Just enjoying looking at these again - are you going to do anything with the base edges?

Those are among the best I've ever seen Street, well done -but you need 1000s! keep painting.
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Bravo!

I can't believe that it's not 15mm...

Sorry for digging out this old thread, but I'm once again looking for pictures of certain figs..
So which Zouaves are those? The 1870 French ones or ACW zouaves? Because of the headgear... thought of using FPW zouaves for 1914, but they wore a fez or turban back then..only the officiers had a kepi.

thanks in advance

Thank you Leon! But before further abusing this thread I'll switch to my other "how does this figure look like?"-topic  ;)

The new ACW zouaves are lovely. Have a look at my Guards Voltigeur thread to see what the ones in turbans look like. I had to scratch build an eagle, it comes with a spike!
