Lovely work, Michael, as always!  The sight of your Essling church got me to thinking about the Aspern one. I have small model which I thought was of this church, which I got from the Old Architectural Hertiage range about twenty odd years ago.  I googled Aspern church and looked at "Images"  to see if anyone still produced it.  It turned our it is in the JR range on Magister Militum's site as a "small cathedral"! But my real discovery on my google search was the second image, which directed me to a site called guildwargamers.com   This seems to be a multi forum site, and just going to the site later did not find me the delights which my first image click provided. It was a series of posts and pictures about a massive game of Aspern-Essling. (And I mean MASSIVE) with the most beautiful modelling of both villages and the terrain. I wonder if Michael, or anyone else here, had seen it or knew more about it?

If you mean the game that was presented in Vienna at the Museum of Military History in 2009 (there's a bicentenary that was missed by the Pendarken 1809 range not starting to appear till 2011!  ;D  ) that's the game I mentioned in Post 198 as my main reference for the church. I don't suppose there are many, if any, contemporary illustrations of the battle-destroyed Schloßkapelle that survive so my thanks go to those sterling chaps with their access to local info.

I'll be making an Aspern Church in 10mm, as well.

That seems to be  the one. It talks about the Museum, but doesn't say it is Vienna. I assumed it was either Vienna or Paris, with I suppose rather more reasons for it to be Vienna!  :D

I think Vienna had a much better reason to celebrate the bicentenary of Aspern! And in preference to Wagram!

It's worth taking the virtual tour around the museum:

It is a fabulous museum. I lived in Vienna from 2001-2005 and visited it many times, and a few times since. Sadly I missed the model!
