The original master's buttons would have been pin pricks in the putty. These are just painted around. They can be filled with a button colour first - I've used gold for officers - but usually dark brown because it contrasts better with jacket colours.

I know you would have because you and Dave provide such a great service. But I'd rather you were busy with new orders, upping the value of your market share, and keeping down the price of my next order!  :D  Filling is just a niggle, it isn't a massive problem. Not the kind of sculpting I've had to do with another company's resin buildings...  :(
