Hi
as said Annatar in http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,5346.0 and refering to  http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,5321.0.html Here's what I tried several days ago :

We usually use Ambush Alley / Force on Force  (the old one, I didn't have time to buy and read the new rules !) and BKC  to play our SCW campaign.
I've heard about Chain Reaction, and catch the free-to-test rules, to give it a try.

Andalusia, 1936
An anarchist patrol is scouting near a farm, led by a a young lady, armed with bolt actions rifles.

An unknown encounter appeared to be 2 nationalists rifles,

.
My squad had to take an Insight Reaction Test. Then shots were fired.

A second "Probable Ennemy Force" is coming : 3 men led by an officer with handgun. Severe gunfight occured.. The "green" anarchist flew.

Then the anarchist force suffered losses, and ran away. The nationalists running towards them !

This was a complete failure !  The young lady died, whispering "no pasaran !"..

What about this test :
it was not the complete rules "nuts!",  (I've been told it's a good game). This game ran very quickly and was fun, with unknown and unpredictable situations.
With this kind of scenario, I will get the same results with AA/FoF.
I should try once again.

thanks for reading !

I've used Chain Reaction quite a few times (although not the new "final" version yet) and enjoyed the results. Usually I'm playing againast my son though and haven't tried solo rules with the PEFs (Probable Enemy Forces). The random enemy force strength appeals.

Not played NUTS! either by the way, but it's on my list of to-do's

cheers
