Not sure if I've asked this before - senility really wrecks the memory - but is the downloadable catalogue ready yet? If so, where abouts is it?

Nope, not ready yet...  :-[ :(

I'm having a right chew on trying to get it into the correct pdf format, it won't separate the pages properly from the source Publisher file.  If anyone here is any good with pdf-ing stuff, let me know, and I can send the file over to play with.

Leon,
I haven't got Publisher (I use Serif Page Plus to create pdf files).
If you are able to save the file in rtf or Word doc I might be able to assist.

I've had a go at converting to rtf, but it loses all the formatting, textboxes, layout, etc.  I'll have to ask Matt how he did it for the previous catalogue, or see if I can copy and paste all the elements of each page into a different file type.

What PDF creation software are you using?

Unfortunately I don't think I have Publisher on a current PC

You use it like a printer from the print menu.  Just go to print and choose the program instead of your printer and it converts your document into a pdf.  I used this for years before 'export as pdf' was integrated into wordprocessor/publisher programs. Never had any complaints about it.

Oh well, it was worth a thought.  :)

Fred, I'm just using the basic 'Save As pdf' in Publisher.  I think the problem is that the document is set up to print as an A5 booklet.  So it displays on screen as A4, with the pages next to each other in sequence, but when I save it as a pdf, it changes to the print layout, with page 1 next to page 56, page 2 next to page 55, etc.

There must be a way, 'cos Matt did it before!

I'll have a look at that, but I'm not sure if it will just do the same thing.

I'd also recommend CutePDF, use it all the time at work to convert documents that contain photos, test boxes, arrows etc into PDF format. Dead simple. It retains page formatting including text boxes etc.

Cheers,

I too would add to the recommendations for cute PDF.

But it does sound like you need to find the booklet setting in Publisher and uncheck it, it will be hidden within the print preferences, if you can't find it try googling for the version of publisher and print as booklet. This should find instructions of how to print as a booklet, but it should point you in the direction of the setting.

I've just tried switching it to single page in the Print settings, and also changing the view type to single page, but the pdf still comes out the same.   >:(

I'll try this Cute pdf when I get chance.
