Next 10mm project is some Sci Fi skirmish type get up.  I am looking at a "travel" type game to keep the kids from being bored on holiday (lie, its for me really, I can always play solo ;))

Currently building the terrain, the figures are on order but sat in the Pendraken waiting to ship pile so I can get ahead of the game.

No photos up yet, but gathering ideas and bits of plastic to stick together.  I am using what is at home in the bits box (which turns out to be quite a lot of styrene).  Walls are going to be 20mm high on the rooms and corridors.  Elevations can be accessed by either ladders or ramps.  I am toying with a 3d reverse pyramid.  Ground level with most of the criss crossing and interconnections in the middle of a square with the upper levels on the outer perimeters each time you go up a level.  This might completely crash and end up being a single level but aspiration as everything is there

As this is only going to be 50 or so figures I didn't think a painting diary would be necessary but will see how the terrain building goes.

Yes, sounds good.
Looking forward to seeing the terrain and figures.
Life is too important to be taken seriously.

Sounds cool, keep us updated on the scratchbuilding, I'm always interested in what can be knocked up.

First mock ups and lessons identified.

Overview.  The Lego in the background is to make sure the angles are 90 degrees.  I haven't quite got that right yet though as some of the corridors have ended up a shade narrower.  Either need to sand these down or go for 15mm round bases  rather than 20mm  :-[ both of which I think I have on order

Medium Straight with pipe.  I might drop the pipe and replace with panels.

Medium Room with no detail

90 Degree corner with a WW1 Figure proxy

These will be sprayed black later this morning as while White is my preference it doesn't set the mood.

I lack the speed of Nik I am afraid and real work gets in the way

Ran out of the important internal support piece, I thought I had two packs but turned out to be one pack 3/4 full  :-[

Saturday will see a trip to the model shop

These look excellent, and there's some nice idea's there for the ones I'm working on myself.  I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress with this.

Real world takes over for a while.

I have set myself a task of making one room or corridor section per day for the next two weeks (might be two corridors if they are simple sections).  It won't be a lot of stuff but I am hoping to add some "specials" such as the meeting lab or the crew room from the Nostromo. As with all my projects I make it up as I go along so hadn't done any planning.  I have had a morning of cutting out "standard" components and fixing some of the earlier ideas that didn't work out.  I have undercoated all the original set.  Kids have been playing Frag on the game board today and want to know when the real one is going to be finished so I have some pressure on to keep this going along with all the other stuff.

Really admire your balls (and modelling skills too!)

For me this is a trip too far, given that out of 10 my modelling skills skills come in somewhere in the -8 region :-[ hence jobs like this are off limits to me.

It might be my imagination (and probably IS given my brain is quite small, smooth and food/alcohol obesessed) but there was talk at some point of PD doing a Sci-fi/Aliens-esque dungeon. I've never been a dungeoneer, but Space Hulk was and still is a fabulous game (which although I own a copy of the recent re-hash, I really dont game enough of).

I might just have to see if the way in which I based my PD aliens and Coloinial Marines might fit on Space Hulk Tiles as there might just be a game there looking to be hashed!

Looking forward to seeing how your efforts turn out

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.
