Avalon

Hi everyone.

I come from a 28mm fantasy painting back ground, though I've not done much for 10 years.  I've always had an interest in miniature war gaming though never had pockets deep enough or enough free time to really get involved.

I used to play Squad leader many moons ago, and have always had an interest in WWII especially the desert theatre of 1940-1943, and Northern Europe, operations such as Market Garden and the Ardennes.

I was hoping to get some advice on miniature preperation, ideas for base coats that work best for Desert camoflages (thinking Dark brown rather than blacks/greens), and help in regards to where to find information on specific regiment/division compositions.

Welcome Avalon...
I think you'll find that you've come to the right place !.....LOTS of the forum members will be able to point you in the right directions.
They'll be far better to get you to the right links than yours truly.
Cheers - Phil.

Avalon

Thanks for the welcome Phil.

I've just put my first post up in regard to resources,  I've been tearing my hair out for the last couple of weeks as most of the online resources dont mention equipment type, numbers, etc.

Hello Avalon

may I recommend the forum belonging to Speciailsit Military Publishing (in addition to this one!)

SMP created Blitzkreig Commander amongst other rules sets, the forum caters for all interests from WW2 to the future and has specific pages on painting miniatures etc etc - there is a mine of information
if you are prepared to dig into it (as there is on here also) :)

Welcome on board! I also recommend checking out the BKC forum as you will be able to get plenty of information there from members. It also has a very useful links section etc.
