No, he's trying to hide something.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Managers.... cant live with them, cant shoot them!

When I worked for Michelin, we used to joke about all the managers dissapearing to hold a meeting about when to have their next meeting. Imagine my surprise when I got a job in the NHS and found out it was true.

Its the meeting ethos here in the Chemical industry. Our engineer has a quote which we put the office wall that goes like this "I have no meetings to go to today. I will be able to get some work done for a change"   ;D ;D

The NHS is full of managers who spend their entire days wandering around corridors with a clip board chatting about anything but anything remotely worklike...

And when the cuts come they come from frontline posts and from back office staff who work their nuts off trying to bale out a sinking ship.

The NHS could save millions if it weedled out the clipboard carriers and corridor lurkers.

I worked for a Company that designed and built Processing plants for the mining industry many years ago and we would have a meeting to prepare for a meeting.... ;D....absolute lunacy

I know I am on the wrong side of this argument, and believe me, it hurts.....but.  Being prepared is always good, even if it is for a meeting.  The consequences of being railroaded at a meeting you haven't prepared for can take ages to reverse.  One of the reasons endless meetings take place, and have such dire consequences, is that people don't prepare enough, and focus on what outcome they want to achieve. Time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted!

Here endeth the first lesson!   :D
