Hi - As i am starting an AWI collection i thought i had better get some terrain. Has anyone any recommendations for buildings? Oh and fences at 10mm , my matchstick rails might be a tad big

Cheers

I'm not aware of many AWI specific buildings but it's worth looking at ACW period. As well as Pendrakens own resin pieces, You can find some nice little buildings from  Timecast http://www.timecastmodels.co.uk/range_32/range_32.html

For fencing it's worth giving N gauge railway scenery a look at - you should easily find both rail and picket fencing

For trees then Pendraken stock a good range, or again try N Gauge. I make my own - but I'm a glutton for punishment

The snake fencing is made from "flat matchsticks" and the flat fencing is  2 matches high (interlocking) - seems to fit ok at 10mm.

Also take a look at the Peter Pig range of scenery, ok its nominally 15mm but Piggy figures are at the low end of 15mm and Pendraken are at the top end of 10mm. I find the buildings look good and are quite cheap as well.

Hi Marty

My blog has a lot of information on what terrain I’m using for my 10mm ACW project. You can use most of the same terrain for AWI. Good luck on your project. http://btsherman.6sided.net/

Hi

Tended to mix Timecast with Langton's 10mm ACW range of buildings. Langton's also do nice picket fencing which I bought lots of when we did the AWI a couple of years back

See below for some pics of the buildings and fencing in a game

I have one, but it progresses at a glacial pace. I hope to get some more stuff painted in the next few months.

I'll second Timecast and Langton. I also use S&A trees, some 10mm walls from Ebay. Miniature world maker and Terra Firma Studios are also excellent !

Marty  I do not know of any places but you can always try N scale early american era buildings, or old glorys 10mm american civil war buildings.

try Jerrys hobby junction they sell a great number of n scale early american buildings
