Can the crew be removed/not be added?  I am thinking of a couple of swivel guns and a crew in Turbans (or Janissaries).  Or is there another elephant that might work better?

Hi Lentulus.

The 2 crew were made as a 'one piece' attached to  a plug around knee level to fit into the howdah. The intention being that if people wanted to replace them with anything else that would fit into the howdah.....(An archer perhaps ?)...They could....Or even leave the howdah empty if they wanted.
As long as Leon and Dave didn't have any problems with the moulding, that should be the case...(Not heard anything to say that it didn't work as planned)....But wait for Leon to say 'yay or nay' to make absolutely sure.
Cheers - Phil.

Why janissaries? The Turks didn't use jumbo-riders.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Yep, all moulded up fine, so it comes as 3 pieces: elephant, howdah, crew.  We could swop the crew plug casting for something else if people wanted?

Why to use the swivel gunners to beat of the highlanders of course.

Given the price of 10mm figures, there aren't even financial reasons to confine myself to reality.

Oh, I'm good.  Hacksaw, supeglue, problem solved.

Although I can see a market for your Indian princely models set up with big game hunters.

Why just wait until the Aztec range comes out, and we can examine the role of the Tlaxcalan war elephants (doubtless imported by the Chinese) in the defeat of Cortez!

A common misconception. The Mexican victory was the direct result of the mercenary French tank division under the command of Brigadier T. A. R. le Ton. The Chinese arrived too late and had to content themselves with colonising the northern part of the continent; thus the cities of Wa Ch'in ton, Nu Yok, Ch'i ka ko, and the  rest, and that redoubtable leader President Lin Ken. Following the Tibetan conquest of China, the colonists returned home to fight for their country against the northern oppressor, and waves of European immigrants did their best to rewrite the history of the northern continent.

Nah, the one between Bai es Wata and Hayid Park. But the Arab conquest of England is a story for another day.
