Hi guys.

I have several things in my mind so I thought it would be good to put up my own thread. But let the dice decide...

Dark Elves:

Dragons, Magicians on Dragons, Warmachine (Bolt Thrower?)

New fantasy range: Drow

WW2 Germans

Maus tank, Panzergrenadiers of all sorts, Löwe Panzer VII, Fliegerfaust, Stg with Vampir Infrarred scope,

New ranges (1990 +): Modern Israeli, French, German, British, USA

New SciFi Ranges: Kilrathi  :o

Are there any chances for spaceships? Maybe your own rulesets?

lentulus

Well, I'll always vote for more WWII infantry poses.

If you do warmachines like bolt throwers (scorpions?) , I suggest you make them historical with alternative crews and perhaps "appropriate decorative elements" for whatever fantasy race might use them.

RE FPW dismounted cavalry requests - not more WWII stuff - as the Ladybird book of WWII states quite clearly T34s never went up against Dark Elves or Wizards.
THIS IS NOT A SLUR AGAINST ROLAND'S REQUESTS. It is intended to highlight the way some individuals seem to quite casually dismiss other forum members' quite valid requests and I don't understand why they feel the need to do this. Are they even interested in these periods? I for one have no interest whatsoever in WWII or fantasy yet I would never dream of making the kind of remarks I have started this post with other than to make this point.

The only thing I shout at is those bloody hats, a very minority unit - less than 200 in the only unit that wore tarltons, in a minor war, militarily.

Doesn't the Maus tank fit into Fantasy rather than WW2?   :)

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

It was built - but not given a turret. Waste of good pewter to mold it in my opinion.

These sound good - the High Elf repeating bolt thrower could easily be a dark elf one.

How would Drow be different from Dark Elves?

Panzer Grenadiers would be good - but less interested in the prototype stuff.

Actually 2 Maus tanks were built, one said to have had a real turret.

But plans and prototypes were destroyed and only Hull A and wooden turrett for B were found. Another rumour has it that one Maus was in Combat in the Battle of Berlin.

Truth is the tank was useless but just recently a lot of people made them in different scales. To each its own I guess but I would indeed fancy some "what if" or "war 1946/47 stuff" myself.

Drow iirc are matriacharlic where as Dark Elves are total Anarchists? Dark Elves are very successful announcing their presence while Drow favout to remain unseen. But then again I just recently developed interest in Fantasy.

My idea was to name SOME of the stuff I am interested in, hoping SOME other members here would second. By no means is my thread representative for ALL of you. So I appreciate criticism but in opposition to Ian I let Leon decide what is a waste of good pewter (is there bad pewter?).

Last time I checked Leon still called the odds at Pendraken and NOT sebigboss79. The latter is quite an admirer of the former and his works though...

Okay I have checked references again about the Maus:

3 Hulls, one wooden turret built and rumours that a Maus was in action at the battle of Berlin.
Again please do not see this as a "this is what´s gonna happen" thread.

I respect people not being interested at all in what I am interested but then please be so kind and return said favour. We are discussing here nothing more.

Dunnadd

Aren't there already Pendraken dark elves? Not that i wouldn't like more in a different style (the existing ones are quite well modelled but i'm not that keen on the Elizabethan style clothes they're wearing)

sebigboss79

There are never enough Dark Elves for my sinister plans....

Aye, its in a Russian museum outside Moscow if i recall.

Definately not Fantasy since it was built!

QuoteTruth is the tank was useless...<snip>

I don't know about this though.

Useless?

It certainly had some issues, but had the designers been able to overcome them (and had the war lasted longer), it would have made a devastating MBT.

Its main problem in terms of performance was wieght.  The engines & transmission just weren't available at that time to power the 200 ton monster without serious mechanical unreliability.  Hitler wanted it to hit 20kph but i don't think they could get it moving much more than about 10kph.

Moving the damned thing about on soft ground would probably have been a problem, but they solved other issues like not being able to use bridges, so they were definately getting somewhere.

Onto more pertinent issues though, a Pendraken model of it would be jolly good and would further beat down my will to resist sorting out a 'Wierd World War II' game...(werewolves and WWII zombies would help too)

Next up.. Das Ratte... :D

Maus was, and is totally imparcticle, there are many more important vehicles which should be done - such as Chaffee, Centurion, M26, and Korean War Chinese infantry.

Ancient ranges could do with more officer types, in fact some (Arabs) could do with any mounted figures.

I dread to say it, but it has to be done, I agree with Ian.  :-[

The Maus sould be well down the priority list.  It is available in 1/144 plastic, so can be had in close enough to 10mm scale, and there are many more far more common vehicles that really should be produced ahead.

Maus was also an engineering dead end - you only have to look at post war tanks to see that anything that size was totally impractical. Modern MBT are around 60-70 tons which is less than a King Tiger let alone the Maus, and the modern ones have much better engines and transmissions.
